Stowe Monoski Camp

Sunday, January 12-13, 2025, 8-4 pm

All Smiles at Monoski Camp
We are stoked to see everyone again this year at one of our favorite events, the 13th Annual Monoski Camp at Stowe Mountain Resort. The event is always a blast, thanks to our partners the Kelly Brush Foundation and the High Fives Foundation, and collaborations of our friends at Vail, Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers, and Eastern Adaptive Sports.

Annually, GMAS welcomes 25 monoskiers ages 21 and up from near and far eager to ski at Stowe Mountain Resort, to share knowledge with each other, to receive top-notch ski instruction from our experts, AND to rip down the mountain. This event puts a spotlight on adaptive skiing, gives the athletes a chance to trade stories, learn from each other, and hopefully introduce some members of the general public to monoskiing. Plus, skiing at Stowe is pretty sweet! Please join us.

Sunday is open to all levels of monoskiers, Monday is for independent expert monoskiers only.

Lead coaches:

  • Geoff Krill, Resiliency specialist and motivational/public speaker, Chief Facilitator of Fun at Eastern Adaptive Sports, Adaptive Examiner for the PSIA-AASI Eastern Division, Training Manager for the Loon Ski and Snowboard School.
  • Chris Young, US Coast Guard (Ret.), World Cup and Paralympic Champion, X Games Champion, and volunteer at the Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers.
  • Chris Collin, T5 paraplegic as of 2008 from a motorcycle accident. Chris has been involved with skiing since the winter after his injury. He started slow but is now PSIA-certified. His home mountain is Sunday River. Chris enjoys equipment and sharing knowledge, not only about skiing but wheelchairs too, as he is a representative for a wheelchair manufacturer. He’s always looking forward to meeting new participants and seeing the smile that skiing can put on their faces – “It reminds me of when I first started and if it’s any percentage of the joy that I get from it then I know it can be life-changing to get that fulfillment.”
  • and others soon to be added.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers helping at the monoski dayWe need A LOT of volunteers to pull this off!

  • Volunteers need to be intermediate to advanced skiers or snowboarders and be willing to help carry gear and help with various tasks on and off the hill throughout the day. This is super fun, please join us!
  • There are also a few spots for volunteers to work at the registration table.
  • Volunteers need to be able to work independently.

Thank you so much for volunteering. This is an experience that may become one of your favorite days of the winter. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity. High School students are welcome, community service hours will be awarded. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
