Join our Board of Directors

Community support is crucial for the success and survival of Green Mountain Adaptive Sports which is run by volunteers. Our organization would not exist without the collective efforts of our board members, our partner organizations and our community of volunteers. Although direct programming is provided through our partner organizations, we are often seeking people willing to give their time to help with board responsibilities, special events and projects, and for our fundraising efforts.

Special events include the Annual Monoski Day, Nordic Ski Open House, and educational events such as GMAS sponsored training clinics and workshops.

Projects vary and might include such activities as planning a special event, working on the website, grant writing, or helping GMAS recruit new athletes or partners.

Our fundraising efforts are key to fulfilling our mission. Achieving those goals depend on the success of annual events such as the Trapp Cabin Trail Race, the Giving Tuesday campaign and party to direct ask fundraising campaigns such as the CommUNITY Challenge.

GMAS strives to safeguard our sport environments from misconduct, including athlete physical and sexual abuse. To that end, Board members and all volunteers are required to undergo an annual background check as well as successfully complete awareness training concerning misconduct in sport before performing services for GMAS. GMAS will cover the cost of these for you. Are you willing to undergo both?
