16th Annual Trapp Cabin Trail Races
5km, 10km and half marathon
Sunday, Sept 20, 2026
The Trapp Cabin Trail Races are held annually at the beautiful von Trapp Family Outdoor Center in Stowe, VT. This perennial favorite is a great opportunity to try out trail running, to look for your personal best, or put the pedal down and go for the gold. These trails are not usually open to the public which makes these races even more special. It is also an important fundraiser for our non-profit organization.
Race Description
All races start at 9am. Racers follow Sugar Road and proceed onto Russel Knoll Track. The 10km runners continue on Chris’s Run to the Cabin, following the single-tracks Growler, Tapline, and Lodge Spur to the finish. Half marathoners repeat the 10km loop. The 5km runners divert onto Old County Road joining Tapline and Lodge Spur to the finish.
The half-marathon is by far our most popular race and attracts over 150 racers from all over New England. The course does a double-loop of the 10.5km and offers runners a perfect opportunity to train for the upcoming Trapp Mountain Marathon. These beautiful trails are not accessible to the general public so this is a special opportunity to run in a unique location.
