The 14th edition of the Trapp Cabin Trail races was a great success last Sunday, September 22. 132 racers competing in the 5km, 10km, or the Half Marathon ran under perfect conditions at the Trapp Family Outdoor Center in Stowe, Vermont.

The annual event attracts runners from all over New England, including 20 students of the Stowe Middle School cross-country team. It is also an important fundraiser for Green Mountain Adaptive Sports.

The morning was cool and comfortable, and blue skies were also on the agenda for the trail run as racers lined up for the 9 am mass start.

Paul Slesar, 13 of Stowe, Vt., clocked the fastest time in the 5km with a 25.40. Gigi Graves, also 13 and a resident of Stowe captured the ladies’ top step with a time of 30.25.

In the Half Marathon, Jeremy Huckins crossed the finish line with an impressive 1:43.46 while Justine Morrison captured the ladies’ title with a 2:05.37.

Green Mountain Adaptive Sports wishes to thank all involved in the success of this event: Trapp Family Lodge, all the staff at the Trapp Family Outdoor Center, Darn Tough Vermont, Kathleene Marcil for the photography, all the volunteers, the timers, and Jeff Kauffman the sweeper. We also want to thank Kate Kuzminski, a strength and mobility coach, for setting up a little booth at the finish, and of course, all of the participants.
