Four athletes will be representing the Stowe TetraSki and Snow’Kart program at the Annual Brian McKenna TetraSki Express International Championship Race at Powder Mountain, Utah, on March 27th, 2026.
Athletes will compete using the Tessier Snow’Kart and the innovative TetraSki — developed at the University of Utah, the world’s only independently operated alpine ski for individuals with complex physical disabilities.
All have been skiing at Stowe this winter — some for multiple years, and all have competed in the East Coast Qualifier at Cannon Mountain late February. They are hoping to capture top honors, and have a lot of fun too!
Meet our athletes
Rachel McKnight — Third time going to the TetraSki Express. She placed first and second, and is now returning to defend her title. She is skiing in the Snow’Kart with the one arm drive. Rachel will be coached by Nate Hanson from Adaptive Sports Partners again this year.
Mike Fay — Second season skiing in the Snow’Kart. He placed first at the East Coast Qualifier at Cannon Mountain late February. He is skiing in the Snow’Kart with two arm control with Stowe coach Allie Peterson.
Dave Whalen — Second time competing at the TetraSki Express. This year’s goal is to stay out of the woods. He is off to a very good start, placing first at the East Coast Qualifier at Cannon Mountain. He will be skiing in the TetraSki with coach Allie Peterson, controlling it with sip and puff (breath control).
Nechie Fischman, a first year Snow’Karter, Nechie placed less than half a second behind Mike at the East Coast Qualifier at Cannon Mountain. She is skiing in the Snow’Kart with two-hand control and is ready to push her limits.
Allie Peterson is traveling with our TetraSki. We wish her luck wrapping it up for shipping and getting through TSA in time for her flight. She will be skiing with as many skiers as possible through the race course, and overseeing our racers.
Good luck everyone, and have a great time.
