Tom Hall’s 2026 Vertical Challenge
Help Tom raise $20,000 to fund the TetraSki Program and instructor trainings.
Donate—or come take a few runs with Tom Hall, Stowe’s Lead Adaptive Ski Instructor and GMAS board member—to support his 2026 Vertical Challenge on Monday, March 16th at Stowe Mountain Resort.
Tom challenges himself annually to raise funds for GMAS. This year, he will attempt to break his personal record set at 98,688 vertical feet of skiing in one day, all to raise funds for Green Mountain Adaptive Sports.
This year’s proceeds will directly support the TetraSki and SnowKart Program, as well as instructor training and certification. Financial assistance is essential to keeping this important program running. We are also strong believers that the better trained our instructors are, the higher-quality, more impactful lessons they can provide to our local athletes.
Thank you for supporting this important—and final—fundraising campaign of the winter season. Your donation helps us reach our goal so we can continue creating joy for all participants and ensure our instructors have access to vital training and additional certification in adaptive skiing and riding.

How it all started
The event started in 2022 when Stowe Ski Instructor and GMAS Board of Director member Tom Hall set out to ski over 55,000 feet of vertical elevation to mark his 55th birthday. He achieved, and even surpassed his goal, skiing over 79,000 feet of vertical elevation in one day. Through his fundraiser, he also raised over $16,000 which was used to upgrade GMAS’ adaptive ski equipment. Read the story.
in 2023, Tom challenged himself to match his previous accomplishment. Little did anyone know that he would shatter his record and ski 98,688 feet of vertical elevation in ONE day! That is 48 runs on the Four Runner Quad (in case you’re wondering!) His efforts helped fund two Ski Camps for Veterans in 2024.
In 2024, Tom skied an impressive 46 runs, and raised over $22,000 to support instructor trainings, and the purchase of the TetraSki. Read the story here.
We will be keeping our eyes peeled on Tom’s performance in 2026, and that of other friends of GMAS also joining the challenge to raise $20,000 that will be put forward to fund the TetraSki Program and instructor trainings and clinics. This year, Tom will ski will on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Thanks for contributing to this important fundraiser!
